Thanks everyone for your generous donations and support in the fund raising event in August to help children of poor orphanages in remote areas of Central Vietnam. Our United Velo team and OutdoorsFun group including families and friends (tri_vrc, Intel Viet Group, Cisco Viet Group) have raised 3,900 USD and have sent the funds directly to 3 organizations in Vietnam as shown below. Thanks Captain Phuc, Anh Thuy & many volunteers, donors, and sponsors to help making this happened.
I am planning to visit Vietnam at end of December this year, and will visit the 3 above orphanages. Per suggestions from cycling friends in Vietnam there are other needy orphanages in Central Vietnam that we can also help:
Cô Nhi Viện Phú Hòa - Quảng Ngãi http://www.nguoitoicuumang.com/index.php?option=com_kunena&Itemid=9&func=view&catid=24&id=3800
The Kianh Foundation - Điện Bàn Day Centre, Điện Bàn District Quảng Nam Province http://www.kianh.org.uk/index.htm
SOS Children's Village Đồng Hới http://www.sosvietnam.org/userpages/Province/tabid/151/IntroId/349/temidclicked/349/language/en-US/Default.aspx
I will be riding bicycle from Saigon to Hanoi (1,110 miles / 1,786 kilometers) fund raising for the above orphanages. You can follow my trip blog below:

Chú Tỷ, Sangman, and Dinh will join me on this cycling trip. Hopefully local cycling clubs in Vietnam probably will participate on this long journey as well. Any donation no matter how big or small to help toward this fund raising effort is greatly appreciated. 100% of the money raised will be wired directly to the 3 recipients above prior to my trip on 12/27/2011.
Also, a local charity cycling event with post-ride picnic in San Jose will be held on Sunday November 20th 2011 to fund raise for the above cause. Please stay tuned for details.
